About Avery
Avery traces back to 1935, when R. Stanton Avery invented the first practical self-adhesive label and started what became Avery Products Corporation in Los Angeles. The company built a dedicated office products division in 1982 for binders, file labels, and other converted paper goods, distinct from the adhesive-materials business. After the 1990 merger that created Avery Dennison, the office and consumer products unit was sold to CCL Industries in 2013 and continues to operate under the Avery name and logo.
