About Bluelounge

Bluelounge was founded in 1999 by designers Dominic Symons and Melissa Sunjaya, initially as a creative studio doing branding and design work for other companies. In 2005 the pair launched their own first product, a small cable-management "yoyo," and the company shifted into the category it is now known for: keeping cables, cords, and chargers out of sight on a desk, in a bag, or behind a TV. Bluelounge is headquartered in Singapore, with design studios in Jakarta, Indonesia and Pasadena, California, and its lineup has grown from that first product into cable management, device stands, and on-the-go accessories built around a "Simplistic & Practical" design approach.

In February 2018, Advantus Corp, a US manufacturer of organizational and office products, acquired Bluelounge, citing the brand's design reputation and its distribution across more than 46 countries at the time of the deal. Over its history the company has collected more than a dozen design awards and patents for its cable products. The CableBox, the product featured below, reflects that same approach: a flame-retardant ABS enclosure sized to hold a full-length surge protector, adapters, and cord slack, offered in four finishes so it reads as a desk accessory rather than a hidden cable box shoved out of view.

Why we recognized Bluelounge

The DeskRated Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our hands-on category reviews. Bluelounge earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: bought, used at a real desk, and judged on merit.

Bluelounge CableBox
Top Pick 2026

Bluelounge CableBox

Flame-retardant ABS plastic construction gives real peace of mind for a power strip that stays plugged in and unmonitored for years, and the interior is sized for a full-length surge protector plus bulky transformer bricks and cord slack rather than the cramped fit we found in cheaper cable boxes. Four color options, including moonlight blue and light sage, mean the box can match a room's palette instead of defaulting to plain black or white, and it is popular in our testing with pet owners whose cats and dogs chew exposed cables or nap on warm power bricks. More than 2,900 verified Amazon ratings back it as a long-tested product in the category.

What earned Bluelounge the recognition

  • Flame-retardant ABS plastic construction, a genuine fire-safety spec for a power strip enclosure that runs unmonitored for years, not just a marketing line.
  • Interior sized for a full-length surge protector plus bulky transformer bricks and cord slack, more capacity than the cramped fit we found in cheaper cable boxes.
  • Four finishes, including moonlight blue and light sage, in a product category that otherwise defaults to plain black or white.
  • More than 2,900 verified Amazon ratings at a 4.7-star average, a long track record rather than a recent launch.
  • A design history stretching back to 1999, more than a dozen design awards and patents, and distribution in over 46 countries at the time of its 2018 acquisition by Advantus Corp.
