About Ergotron
Ergotron is a Minnesota-based ergonomics company founded in 1982 by Harry Sweere, its name a portmanteau of ergonomics and electronics. Now a subsidiary of Melrose Industries, the company holds more than 200 patents in monitor-mounting and mobile-computing ergonomics, and its product range spans monitor arms, sit-stand desks under the WorkFit brand, and medical-cart workstations under CareFit, sold into office, healthcare, industrial, and education markets.
The engineering signature across Ergotron's monitor-arm lineup is its patented Constant Force tensioning technology, designed to deliver consistent lifting force across the arm's full range of motion so a monitor holds its position instead of drifting downward as the mechanism ages.
