How to use this spelling worksheet generator

How this generator works (the transforms)

Each activity is a small, deterministic transform of your word list, so what you see in the preview is exactly what prints — and the same output every time for the same list:

• Missing letters replaces either every vowel (a e i o u) or every other letter with a blank: because → b _ c _ _ s _ (vowels) or b _ c _ u _ e (every other).
• Word scramble shuffles each word with a seeded shuffle — the seed is a hash of the word itself, so friend always scrambles to the same letters. If the shuffle happens to land back on the original word, the first two letters are swapped so it is never un-scrambled by accident.
• ABC order sorts your words case-insensitively for the answer key while the worksheet shows the original list plus numbered lines.
• Word shapes classifies each letter as tall (ascenders like b d f h k l t and capitals), short (x-height like a c e o), or a tail (descenders g j p q y), then draws a matching box outline for the student to fill.

The page layout uses the same geometry as printed handwriting paper. Row height is the line size in millimeters converted to points, rowHeightPt = mm × (72 ÷ 25.4), and rows flow down the usable area of each sheet — usable = pageHeight − topMargin − bottomMargin − headerOffset — starting a new page whenever the next block would overflow. Paper sizes follow ISO 216 (A4) and ANSI/ASME Y14.1 (US Letter and Legal).
